ABOUT US

Back in 1985, a few Jaycees had the crazy idea that the Quad City area needed a one stop bridal fair. Around 20 local merchants agreed and signed up to be part of such a fair. Thus, Bridal Expo, now operating as Wedding Expo, was born. The demand for such an event became shockingly evident, as hundreds of brides arrived to plan their dream wedding at that first expo.

Over the years, the Wedding Expo has constantly grown and changed with the times. Whether you are looking for the latest trends or something more traditional, the Wedding Expo is the place to be.

In addition to serving area brides and grooms, the Jaycees of the Quad Cities serves the community at large. Wedding Expo proceeds are used to fund the Jaycee Santa Program, a 70-year program to provide gifts for over 1,000 area underprivileged children, teenagers, and adults. The Jaycees have given over $725,000 of Wedding Expo proceeds to other local causes, including funding the new library at the Scott County YMCA's Camp Abe Lincoln.

In 2011, the Jaycees of the Quad Cities Wedding Expo was named the Top Fundraising Project in the nation by the national Jaycee organization. To win this honor, the project had to be named the top project through successive conferences, starting at the region and district level before winning top project in the state of Iowa. The Davenport chapter competed against 200 chapters for this honor.

This year's Jaycees of the Quad Cities Wedding Expo continues to uphold the tradition of excellence. The Wedding Expo is projected to be the largest wedding fair in the Quad City area. Over 100 vendors will participate in the expo and nearly 800 couples will attend to plan their own dream wedding.

As our first brides and grooms celebrate their 39th anniversary with us, we look forward to helping you prepare for your wedding!
